Ayurvedic Wellness

"The great thing about Ayurveda is that it's treatments always yield side benefits, not side effects."-Shubhra Krishan
Ayurveda is an ancient medical science deeply focused on healing and maintaining quality and longevity of life. It's meaning derives from Sanskrit language; “Ayur” meaning Life and “Veda” meaning Knowledge. Loosely translated to 'Knowledge of Life'. The goal of Ayurveda is based on achieving mind-body-spirit balance as it encompasses medical, spiritual, psychological, and philosophical components focused on promoting lifelong wellness.
Ayurveda is not meant to replace Western Medicine but rather to compliment it. It focuses more on preventative, as opposed to symptomatic, which is the conventional approach of modern medicine.
Ayurveda seeks to locate the root cause of pain, illness and disease and works with qualities associated with the root cause to begin to bring back balance. Lifestyle and dietary changes are suggested & a personalized plan is developed between client and counselor. Ayurveda focuses on the individual's alignment with nature; living in rhythm with the five basic elements: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Ether (Space), throughout the varied seasons of the year.
